DisclaimerThis website is produced by East Anglian Chambers, a set of barristers’ chambers located at four sites in East Anglia; Norwich, Ipswich, Colchester and Chelmsford. Chambers has no collective legal identity of any kind; all barristers practising from a set of chambers are self-employed individuals. By agreement of the barristers in these Chambers this website has been prepared for information purposes only. Non-liability for use of this siteEvery reasonable effort has been made to ensure that the information contained on this website is accurate, but no responsibility for its accuracy, or for any consequences of relying upon it is assumed by any member of Chambers. This information and commentary does not and is not intended to amount to legal advice to any person and it should not be relied upon as such. By entering this site you accept that you have no right or recourse against the provider of information on this web site. Legal AdviceMembers of Chambers, as individual lawyers, may only give advice to a particular person on a specific matter or cause if instructed to do so by one of the following:
Recent changes in professional regulations now permit experienced barristers who wish to do so, have undergone the necessary training and are on the Bar Council Public Access Register, to provide legal advice directly to members of the public. However, this service is not available for criminal, family, or immigration work and a barrister must refuse instructions if he or she considers that it is in the interests of the client or in the interests of justice for the lay client to instruct a solicitor or other professional client. Please ask the clerks which members of chambers accept work on this basis. * Licensed access is a licensing system whereby organisations or individuals who are suitable to instruct barristers because they have expertise in particular areas of the law can apply to the Bar Council to be licensed to instruct barristers directly in those areas. The licence can cover advice or representation or both and permit licensees to instruct barristers either on their own affairs or on behalf of their clients. See elsewhere: privacy statement.
