Here are the people who keep chambers running smoothly : our clerks and administrators. Our clerking team, led by Fraser McLaren, are the interface between the barristers, solicitors and other instructing professionals. They negotiate fees, ensure that briefs and instructions are delivered and returned in timely fashion, and that the right barrister is in the right court, on the right side, and at the right time. Our administrator, Carol Bull negotiates office equipment contracts, ensures that we pay our bills, comply with all our professional training obligations, and obtain our annual practising certificates – while making it all seem terribly easy. Our fees clerk, Theresa Mathias, works relentlessly to ensure that fees are paid in as timely a fashion as possible. If there is a particular problem with outstanding fees for a case she is the first point of contact.
