Chelmsford Legal Walk
Event start: 20 May 2015 17:00
Event end: 20 May 2015 19:30
East Anglian Chambers is the first team to sign up for this year's Chelmsford Legal Walk, an 8km sponsored walk around the local area to raise money for local advice services.
The route will have a Magna Carta theme to celebrate the 800th anniversary of the sealing of the Magna Carta and highlight the document's importance and relevance to access to justice today.
Our walkers include New London Road clerk Jennifer Bird, barristers Jasvinder Kaur, Alison Underhill and Head of Chambers Graham Sinclair.
Why do we walk?
The need for free legal advice centres has grown in the past few years. The recession has increased poverty and reduced support services. Meanwhile funding for the advice centres themselves has reduced.
The organisations we support:
Prevent families being made homeless
Help older people gain the support to which they are entitled
Help women and children who have been trafficked for domestic servitude or prostitution.
All of this costs money, so we desperately need your support. Please visit our sponsorship page at
and give generously.
