How we are organised

Although for the convenience of our clients we work from premises in different parts of the region, the entire clerking team is now concentrated in our Ipswich building.  We hope that this new clerking hub will better enable chambers to respond effectively to the challenges of the new legal landscape.  Up-to-date communications and computer systems link members with clerks and administrative staff across our estate, allowing us to operate as a single, integrated unit.

Each location is securely connected to chambers' electronic diary and billing system and our clerking team have instantaneous access to the work schedules of all members and pupils, allowing them to find the appropriate barrister for any case, wherever he or she is presently located.

In order to enhance and protect their levels of knowledge and expertise, and to maintain instructing solicitors' confidence on those occasions when cases need to be returned to alternative counsel (often at short notice), all save our most junior members belong to one or more of the specialist teams and practitioner groups into which we are divided.

Details of these teams and specialist practitioner groups can be found elsewhere on this website.
