Akta, who joined EA Law - East Anglian Chambers in November 2016 from chambers in the Temple, specialises in private and public law family cases complemented by some housing disrepair and possession work.
Akta undertakes all forms of private law children work including all section 8 Children Act applications in addition to a special interest in child abduction to foreign jurisdictions and wardship.
She has represented parents and children, through their Guardian ad Litem, in care proceedings ranging from contesting final care orders to disputing adoption plans in favour of Special Guardianship.
Akta is regularly instructed on financial issues related to matrimonial, including TLATA and Schedule 1 Children Act proceedings. She has also represented children whose parents have passed away intestate, seemingly leaving them with no financial support, but having a cause under the Inheritance Act 1975.
Akta is fluent in Gujarati and Hindi.
