Jeremy Dugdale M.A. (Oxon)

Jeremy Dugdale began his career in common-law chambers in London, returning to his native Norfolk with his young family in 1999.

His practice was divided fairly equally between Family Law and Criminal Law until his appointment in 2003 to the Mental Health Review Tribunal (hearing appeals against compulsory detention in psychiatric hospitals).

Since then, he has concentrated on his practice in Family Law, although he retains his enthusiasm for the court-room battle (when appropriate) which he developed at the Criminal Bar.

He now acts for parents, local authorities, and children, in all manner of public and private law proceedings, including those in which allegations of serious sexual or physical abuse are made. Given his interest and experience in matters relating to mental health, he is often instructed in cases where mental illness is, or may be, an issue.
