Tenants: Christine Hayes

Having worked in optics for a number of years, Christine decided to change careers after having a career break to raise a family. Having studied law she then completed pupillage in London and East Anglia.

Criminal Law

Christine acts for both the Crown and the Defence in  both the magistrates and crown courts and in the Divisional court. She has particular expertise in acting in cases involving vulnerable or child witnesses and in cases involving legal argument.

She has also acted for various public bodies including local authorities, trading standards and the DWP and has frequently acted in p11 applications for social services and others.

Family

Christine acts mainly in public law proceedings, representing parents, local authorities and children. and has particular experience of dealing with vulnerable parents, including those with learning difficulties.

She acts in all family courts throughout East Anglia and also within the High Court.

Licensing

Christine has acted in a large number of cases dealing with the new licensing regime, both for breweries and local authorities, inclding appeal cases.
