Paul Strelitz LLB ( Hons)Paul Strelitz was appointed a tenant in Chambers immediately upon his successful completion of pupillage under Graham Parnell (now DJ Parnell) and Dominic Barratt (now Head of the Family Team). He enjoys busy paperwork practice as well as appearing almost every day in a court or tribunal. Paul has extensive experience in many areas of civil law with a particular speciality in employment law and contractual matters. He also accepts instructions on, and has considerable experience in, criminal law in both the Magistrates’ Courts and the Crown Court. EmploymentPaul has acted in cases ranging from one day matters to cases lasting for several weeks at various tribunals as well as the EAT for both Applicants and Respondents. These cases have concerned the law relating to TUPE (new and old regime), disability discrimination and sex discrimination as well as the more typical unfair dismissal, breach of contract and wrongful dismissal claims. Contract/Land LawPaul has acted for and advised for both Claimants and Defendants on a variety of matters from the initial stages of litigation up to and including appearing alone in multi-track disputes in commercial, contractual and land law disputes. Notably Paul assisted David Pugh, Head of Chambers, in advising on contractual/planning matters relating to the effects of the EU Directives on Public procurement on a £2.5m leisure centre for a local authority. Paul also regularly advises Solicitors on company law, including shareholders’ disputes and breach of director’s duties. CrimeFor the first year of his practice Paul undertook, almost exclusively, criminal work. This included publicly funded and privately funded prosecution and defence work. Paul quickly became a popular junior Barrister with Solicitors and consequently his breadth of experience is considerable and his advocacy skills have been termed as robust, intellectual and highly-able. Paul also accepts instructions on, and regularly appears in, personal injury matters from the small claims track up to the multi-track. He is happy to accept urgent instructions by fax or email. Further information can be obtained by contacting his senior clerk, Peter Hall on 01473 214481.
