Nicholas Sykes LL.B (Hons) Lond.

Nicholas Sykes graduated from King's College and completed pupillage at East Anglian Chambers. Today he is instructed in both advisory and advocacy roles across all areas of his practice.

Local Government

He is a specialist in the Licensing Act 2003. He has clerked for local authorities pre-conversion and for applicants and objectors at sub-committee hearings. He now regularly appears across the south east and around the country for both licensing authorities and applicants in the Magistrates' courts on appeal and at sub-committee hearings.

Personal Injury

Advisory work includes advices on quantum and liability; drafting particulars of claim; and apportionment of awards claimed under the Fatal Accidents Act. He appears on the small claims and fast tracks, representing both claimants and defendants.

Contract

Areas of work include consumer and commercial contracts for trial on both the small claims and fast tracks. In addition, he is instructed on fast track and multi track applications as well as advisory work and pleadings.

He accepts instructions and briefs for most other civil work. Please ask the clerks for further information.
