Licensing

The Licensing Act 2003 provides the legislative framework around which we can help you navigate in order to protect your livelihood.
The law relating to Licensing and Gaming is an increasingly complicated area. Our expert licensing law practitioners at EA Law - East Anglian Chambers will ensure you are not taking any chances and have experience in dealing with a wide range of licensing scenarios including: public houses, private members clubs, casinos, online gaming websites, clubs, restaurants, hotels, retail stores, football clubs, taxis and music festivals.

We will be able to assist you when applying for a new license under the provisions of the Licensing Act 2003, or varying an existing licence. We can also provide advice and representation if you wish to review decisions of the Licensing Committee to the Magistrates Court.

If the premises licence or status of the designated premises supervisor is under threat by a challenge by the police, environmental health services or other other interested party, we can provide straight forward advice and provide robust representation before the sub-committee and if required, on appeal before the courts. This may involve assisting by negotiating with the responsible authority to agree a progressive improvement plan or challenging the evidence relied upon by the opposing party. We recognise that this is your business and help you to take the necessary steps to protect it.
